About
Amy Calhoun, Principal
Amy is a facilitator, coach and designer of multi-stakeholder
processes through which business, government, and community leaders can
work together to solve their toughest, most complex problems. Her work
focuses on collective learning and allowing new solutions to emerge.
She infuses creativity and imagination into current knowledge and
information systems for individual, organizational and social
transformation.
Amy has worked in South Africa and Mexico, as well as in the United
States. In South Africa, she worked as part of a team on a multi-year
project to help improve quality and quantity of care for the increasing
numbers of orphaned and vulnerable children. This “Innovation Lab” has
over 60 key national leaders working together from government, NGO's,
business, universities, medical institutions, and donor organizations.
This leadership and innovation network works to build collaboration,
leadership, systemic approaches, and innovation to the challenges
facing the children of Midvaal.
In Mexico, she worked as a Integral Theory consultant and process designer with the Universidad del Medio Ambiente (University of the Environment), a university project that was launched to promote the shift towards a sustainable, resilient and regenerative society. Her worked centered on their Environmental Entrepreneurship Program, a program designed for entrepreneurs interested in forming companies focusing on renewable energy and water.
Amy completed her undergraduate education at NC State University. She
is currently working on her Master's in Transformative Leadership at
the California Institute of Integral Studies. She lives in Durham, NC
with her husband Eric.
